IBCLC Lactation Consultant Coventry & Warwickshire | Natures Way

Expert feeding support that understands the journey from hospital to home

I’m Jas Malhi, an NHS Infant Feeding Lead Midwife, Registered Midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant  IBCLC and tongue-tie practitioner.

I provide compassionate, evidence-based private feeding support during pregnancy and after birth, with time to understand the complete picture not just one feed, one symptom or one difficult day.

Home visits are available across Coventry, Rugby, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas with virtual support available throughout the UK

Specialist support when feeding feels harder than expected

Feeding difficulties rarely have one simple cause.

Your birth, recovery, milk production, your baby’s behaviour, positioning, milk transfer, oral function and the advice you have already received can all affect what happens next.

My role is to slow everything down, listen properly and help you understand what may be happening. Together, we will create a realistic plan that protects your wellbeing, supports your baby and reflects the way you want to feed.

You do not have to wait until feeding has become unbearable or your confidence has disappeared before asking for help.

Bridging the gap

Support that complements your NHS maternity care

NHS maternity and community teams provide essential care but appointments can be brief, different professionals may offer different advice and families can sometimes go home still feeling unsure about what to do next.

Alongside my private practice, I work within NHS maternity services as an Infant Feeding Lead Midwife. This gives me a detailed understanding of maternity care, early feeding after birth, hospital discharge, supplementation, expressing, newborn behaviour and the pathways families may need to navigate.

Private support gives us the time to bring the different pieces together.

I can help you understand the advice you have received, prepare questions for your NHS team, recognize when further medical assessment may be needed and develop a practical feeding plan for home.

Natures Way IBCLC is an independent private service and is not provided on behalf of, commissioned by or affiliated with my NHS employer.

Feeding Assessment

A comprehensive assessment for painful feeding, latch difficulties, low milk supply, unsettled or sleepy babies, expressing, supplementation, bottle feeding, mixed feeding and concerns about weight or milk transfer.

Tongue-Tie and Oral Assessment

A specialist feeding and oral-function assessment when tongue restriction may be contributing to painful, ineffective or difficult feeding.

Pregnancy Feeding Preparation

Personalized preparation for the first hours and days after birth including colostrum, establishing milk supply, normal newborn behaviour and navigating feeding support in hospital.

You may benefit from specialist support if:

Feeding is painful or damaging your nipples.

Your baby struggles to attach, stay attached or feed effectively.

Your baby is very sleepy, unsettled or feeding for prolonged periods.

You are concerned about milk supply or weight gain.

You are using formula top-ups but would like to protect or increase breastfeeding.

You are expressing frequently and are unsure how to reduce pumping safely.

You have been given conflicting advice.

You are concerned about tongue-tie or your baby’s oral function.

A previous feeding experience has left you anxious about feeding another baby.

You simply need time, reassurance and a clear plan.

Concerned about tongue-tie?

Tongue-tie cannot be properly understood by looking under a baby’s tongue for a few seconds or reviewing a photograph.

I consider how your baby moves their tongue, how they feed, whether milk transfer is effective, your comfort, your baby’s growth and whether other factors may be contributing.

An assessment does not automatically lead to a recommendation for division. My priority is to understand your baby’s feeding function, explain my findings clearly and help you decide what support or referral may be appropriate.

Families deserve to feel heard

You do not need to work everything out alone

Whether you are preparing during pregnancy, struggling in the early days or trying to make feeding more sustainable, I will meet you with warmth, clinical expertise and no judgement.
